Shan Long-Moore holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from
DePaul University and a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Guidance
from UMKC. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor who enjoys
working with, children, adolescents and families. Shan is skilled with
teenagers and adults that possess dual diagnosis. She has facilitating
group therapy with female and male teenagers experiencing substance
abuse, anger issues as well as being diagnosed with Bipolar disorder.
Shan is conversant and comfortable providing therapy with individuals
diagnosed with Aspergers and Pervasive Developmental Disorder.
Shan’s theoretical orientation and knowledge encompasses many
models but her base utilizes a family system and cognitive behavioral
model of therapy. Shan’s overall philosophy is that the client has a great
deal of knowledge but is in need of temporary support to navigate life’s
traumas and challenges.
